On November 14, we will celebrate 2017 Jane Mendel Reading day across LRSD. Please make plans to come and read to a class for 20-30 minutes between the hours of 8:30 am and 11:00 am by SIGNING UP HERE. Volunteers are welcome to bring a favorite book, choose from LRSD's suggested children’s storybooks, or take a few extra moments to choose from books the media specialist will have ready at the school. 2017 Reading Day will support the LRSD One District, One Book fall kickoff.

Forest Park will celebrate Stride Pride THIS WEDNESDAY morning as students and parents walk to school, then stay and enjoy refreshments, door prizes, and a short program. Walk to School day brings awareness to pedestrian safety, and also highlights community and neighborhood support for our school. This Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6pm, Forest Park will open its doors for this year's Open House. Come get to know your students' teachers and visit their classrooms! The PTA will also open up a pop-up shop to feature Pass the Plaid, where you can stock up on gently used uniform items, and we'll be selling some fun things from Forest Park's Roots garden and the Spirit Shop.
